Gunmen have allegedly killed the Labour Party (LP) ward chairman, Sunday Oche in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to reports gathered, Oche was ambushed and shot dead by yet-to-be identified gunmen when he went to his farm in the company of his friends.
An eyewitness had also said that the bandits shot and killed Oche while five others managed to escape with serious gunshot injuries.
A source close to the deceased, who pleaded anonymity had informed journalists that Oche went to the farm with five others on motorcycles.
The source further revealed that the deceased and his friends went to help a widow on her farm before he met his untimely death.
According to the source,
“Those who went to the farm with the chairman came home with serious injuries, saying that they were attacked by bandits who also took their two motorcycles.”
Meanwhile upon being contacted, the Spokesperson of the Benue State Command, SP Catherine Anene, said she was not aware of the incident.
