The Anambra State government has renounced a fake link making rounds on social media about the empowerment of youths in the state.
The fake empowerment scheme is promising N2 billion in financial empowerment to about 5,000 youths in the state.
However, the Press Secretary to the state governor, Mr Christian Aburime had remarked that the link was fake and had not come from the government.
A press release refuting this and signed by Aburime had said: “It has come to the attention of the Anambra State Government that a false message is circulating on various platforms, falsely claiming that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, is providing a 2 billion Naira empowerment grant to 5,000 Anambra youths.
“This scam message also provides a link, encouraging individuals to apply for the specified grant and to also share the information for others to benefit.”
“The Anambra State Government wishes to use this medium to refute this message in its entirety and hereby informs the public that it is a glaring scam.”
Note that the state government only recently trained youth in the state with skills and also empowered them financially to launch new businesses in a program named; 1 Youth, 2 Skills.
