The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential campaign council has remarked that the well-known Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, would be remembered as a villain who inflicted hardship, pain, and suffering on Nigerians.
Bayo Onaga, the APC PCC Director of Media and Publicity, had made this remark, also adding that Emefiele would end up as ‘the fall guy’ for the illegal currency swap in Nigeria’s history.
Recall that on Monday, March 13, the CBN had in a statement by its Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Isa AbdulMumin stated that the old N200, N500, and N1000 bank notes would remain legal tender until December 31, 2023, as directed by the Supreme Court.
The order had come after 16 states of the Nigerian Federation had instituted a suit to challenge the legality or otherwise of the introduction of the policy.
