National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka throws shade at “imposters” behind Ganduje’s suspension drama.
In a move that raised eyebrows across Nigeria, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, was recently suspended by his own ward in Kano state. This sent shivers down the spines of some party faithful, reminding them of the dramatic removal of former chairman Adams Oshiomhole in 2020.
But the APC leadership is quick to assure everyone: this is nothing like Oshiomhole’s situation!
Morka vs. The “Imposters”
Appearing on Arise TV, APC spokesperson Felix Morka insisted the situations are completely different. According to Morka, those pushing for Oshiomhole’s removal were recognized party officials, whereas, in Ganduje’s case, they’re dealing with “imposters.”
Morka pointed out that the person who announced Ganduje’s suspension even denied involvement! “Who the heck went to court?” he exclaimed, highlighting the alleged lack of legitimacy behind the move.
He said, “No, it is not familiar if you understand the facts of what happened to Oshiomhole. They are incomparable. They are two different things altogether. In the case of Oshiomhole when he was the national chairman, the individuals who were involved in that effort to suspend him and take all the actions within the party were officials of the party.
“I know no one could have come out at that time to say these individuals are not legitimate officers of the party. So whether they were persuaded to do that or compromised, whether they were acting on their free will and volition is a different conversation. And I am not going to speak to that. But they were members of the party.
Morka’s strong words paint a picture of a desperate attempt by outsiders to oust Ganduje. However, whispers persist that there might be more to the story. Some see parallels with Oshiomhole’s ouster, which some believe was politically motivated.
The Plot Thickens…
The court case mentioned by Morka adds another layer of intrigue. While the APC claims the suspension is illegitimate, the court’s decision remains pending.
Will Ganduje weather this storm? Will the “imposters” be exposed? Only time will tell.
