Armenia has submitted a formal request to the World Court, also known as the International Court of Justice, urging it to compel Azerbaijan to fully withdraw its troops from civilian facilities within Nagorno-Karabakh.
Additionally, Armenia seeks the court’s intervention to facilitate United Nations access to the region.
This action comes in the wake of previous legal disputes between Armenia and neighboring Azerbaijan, where, in February, the World Court had already issued an interim ruling, mandating Azerbaijan to ensure unrestricted passage through the Lachin corridor to and from the contested territory.
