Arne Slot has now been confirmed to leave his position as Liverpool manager. The Dutch manager’s two-year spell in the Anfield hot seat is now over.
In an official club statement, Liverpool revealed that the 47-year-old has now left his post with immediate effect following a review of the end of the season. They have also stated that they would like to thank him for his contribution after leading the Reds to their 20 th English league title in his very first season in charge.
Liverpool have declared that it was “a tough decision to make” but added that they admire him as both a person and a leader in charge of the team. They have also stated that he handled one of Liverpool’s toughest periods, in the aftermath of the loss of forward Diogo Jota, with great compassion.

Slot’s first season in charge could not have been any more successful as he took the reins from Jurgen Klopp and led the Reds to a Premier League title before securing the 20 th league crown. However, his second campaign was a disappointing one, and following injuries, Liverpool fell out of the title race and ended the season in 5 th.
The focus now falls on Bournemouth’s manager Andoni Iraola, who is now thought to be the prime candidate. The Spaniard guided Bournemouth to a remarkable 6 th in the Premier League, securing European football for the first time in the club’s history.
Liverpool feel that it is time for a new direction and believe that it is Iraola’s style of intense, attacking football that the club needs going into the next stage of its development.
