We have no doubt that this hurt will propel us forward, as history shows they are even stronger after defeats, and in the next round they went on to secure a successive quarter-final, semi-final and final run to prove that their European game has improved consistently.
The club has failed to secure the first piece of European silverware on offer this season after a determined and organised display at the highest level proved just short, as the disappointment etched on the faces of the players showed as the final whistle blew at the Budapest showpiece – a day which is surely the most disappointing one for all involved after the most historic of seasons for the club.

Arteta, however, insisted there is no doubt the hurt will propel them and said that there will be no doubt that he will make the Gunners raise their level after being defeated by what he describes as the best team in the world.
While admitting that his team was solid defensively and kept the star-studded Parisians attackers quiet for a sustained period, The Gunners’ manager also stated that attackers must step up their game, to make the difference at the highest level, to ensure Arsenal have enough power when the stakes are high and a step up in options will be necessary if the side is to become regulars among the cream of Europe despite their efforts.
Arteta has his chance now to improve the Arsenal squad and, with the Premier League now secured, the Gunners boss can look to build for success
