Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Committee (PCC) for purportedly urging Western countries to congratulate President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Last Monday, the APC PCC Director of New Media, Femi Fani-Kayode, requested US President Joseph Biden to congratulate the President-elect, adding that Nigeria is a large country that deserves nothing less.
But, in a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Assistant on Public Media, Phrank Shaibu, the former Vice President claimed the APC PCC had shown desperation by expressly requesting the US President to congratulate Tinubu on his election victory on February 25.
He maintained that the presidential election was rigged in favor of the former Lagos State governor.
Tinubu’s victory in the election is being challenged by the PDP candidate and his Labour Party rival, Peter Obi, at the presidential election petition tribunal.
