Presidential Aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has paid Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, a visit in Abuja.
This meeting is coming after Atiku won the primary election held at the moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Saturday, 28th of May, 2022. Atiku was crowned the presidential candidate of the party after winning Wike and others with three hundred and seventy-one (371) votes while Wike got two hundred and thirty-seven (237) votes. The meeting saw in attendance former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, Abubakar, former Accountant General, Adamu Waziri, former minister of police, and other stakeholders of the party.
Atiku is said to have appreciated Wike for his efforts in the party and also reminded him of their common rival which was the All progressive party (APC). He begged Wike and other members to try to put on more effort to make sure the party comes out successful in the coming elections.
Wike on the other hand promised to continue to support the party in any way he could. He also assured them that he was still loyal to the party and would not be going anywhere.
