Atletico Madrid allegedly granted Julian Alvarez written permission to negotiate with Barcelona over a potential transfer, although they officially stated he would not be sold to the Catalan side.
El Chiringuito TV reported a document containing the authorization was given directly to Alvarez; journalist Jordi Jota claimed he’d seen it personally. “The only condition Atletico Madrid gave to Julian Alvarez is to talk about it; they’ve told him and they wrote to him that the Barcelona option was ok.” Jordi Jota revealed.
The latest piece of information will surprise Barcelona, as they expected a bid to have been made impossible given it would lead to them strengthening a fellow La Liga contender.

Their primary interest in moving for Alvarez has seemingly ended after receiving this confirmation; however, Barcelona have apparently failed to give up on their interest in Alvarez and they could bid for him in the January transfer window.
The Catalan team believed a bid was not possible in the summer due to financial constraints; however, that may not be the case in winter, and if this document is actually real, then Atletico have not been honest about Julian Alvarez.
