Bank of America has agreed to pay $2.25 million to settle a class-action lawsuit involving alleged excessive ATM fees charged at 7-Eleven locations.
The case, filed in a federal court in California in 2019, accused the bank of breaching its agreement with customers by applying multiple charges for a single ATM balance inquiry.
Plaintiffs alleged that Bank of America imposed two separate out-of-network fees for one transaction at certain ATMs operated inside 7-Eleven stores.
While agreeing to the settlement, the bank has denied any wrongdoing.

Under the terms of the agreement, customers may be eligible for compensation if they used an FCTI-owned ATM located in a 7-Eleven store between May 1, 2018, and November 16, 2021.
Eligible customers are expected to have received notifications via email or postal mail informing them of the settlement.
A final approval hearing has been scheduled for August 2026, while the deadline for submitting claims is June 29, 2026.
