Rashford had an impressive spell on loan at Camp Nou last season, scoring and assisting 28 goals in all competitions. However, that 30 million purchase option at Barca was never activated, and instead, Gordon was targeted as a longer-term option for attack-minded football.
Rashford returned to Manchester United and has been worked back into the first-team squad by the new manager, Michael Carrick, but his future remains unclear with Barcelona said to be keeping in touch with his agent, according to TEAMtalk.

Initially, Barcelona looked for another loan spell with Rashford still having two years on his United contract, but the Red Devils apparently wanted him moved on a permanent basis, and a deal didn’t go through earlier in the summer.
Things could yet develop, however, before the end of the transfer window, with Barcelona losing both Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres; there’s even the thought that Roony Bardghji might miss the entire season injured.
Barcelona are pursuing Atletico Madrid’s forward Julian Alvarez, but complications may force them to look into other targets.
Rashford reportedly wants a return to Barcelona, but it is United’s terms for a permanent transfer that will be the determining factor whether or not.
