Residents of Bayelsa state are not finding the scarcity of cash issue funny, coupled with the rejection of the old notes by banks.
Despite the Supreme Court orders, banks are still not accepting the old naira notes, but are rather dispensing them out for Citizens, due to the refusal of banks to collect the old notes, many traders have also refused to accept the old notes.
Bayelsa residents took to the streets to protest the refusal of banks to accept the old N500 and N1000 notes, they blocked the major Mbiama-Yenogoa road, and they carried placards with various placards.
