The Bayelsa Environmental Sanitation Authority -BESA, chairman, Tolu Amatu, is reportedly dead after falling and slumping.
Amatu, who had been a former aspirant for the Sagbama/ Ekeremor Federal Constituency seat had slumped in his home at Bay Bridge, Kpansia, Yenagoa on Sunday morning September 11, and he died before getting to the hospital.
According to police investigations, the politician who was the Chairman of Ekeremor Local Government council during the administration of a former governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, had been complaining of serious leg pains on Friday, September 9, and had subsequently taken some pain medications to alleviate the pains.
However, according to sources close to the family, on Saturday, September 10, Amatu again complained that he was having waist pains and no bowel movement. He was thereafter advised to take oranges which he did but the situation did not get better. He had taken some rest and gone about his normal work. But, on Sunday morning, he had purportedly collapsed and was rushed to a hospital along Saptex road where he had been pronounced dead.
