A former contestant on MasterChef has blown the whistle on a toxic environment within the show, detailing abuse and offensive behavior during filming. A contestant, who shall not be named, said the abuse was prevalent among production staff and left him horrified and ready to quit on his first day.
The accusations have been brought forward at a time when Gregg Wallace has resigned amid the investigations into misconduct. Though his behavior was in question, the contestant says that the issues run deeper and involve other crew members.
Production company Banijay UK has commissioned an external review, promising to address the claims, as the scandal shines a light on concerning dynamics in reality TV.
