The governor of Cross river state, Ben Ayade has lost the senatorial ticket to contest under the All Progressive Congress.
Ben Ayade got the lowest votes out of the three people that contested the position for the Senate. The winner, Adams Cecilia got a total of one hundred and forty (140) votes from the delegates while Martin Orim came behind her with sixty-one (61) votes. Ben Ayade came last with fifty votes (52)
The governor would be completing his second term as the governor which he won under the people’s democratic party. He had dumped the PDP in May last year.
