Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has revealed that the Federal Government has given the green light for the construction of an airstrip at Faith Tabernacle in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.
Oyedepo made this announcement during the Tehillah Night Special Edition held at Covenant University Chapel on Sunday. According to the prominent cleric, this airstrip will allow him and others to bypass the traditional airport, flying directly from Canaanland to their desired destinations.
In his words, “I am sure you will be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland. I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going. Members with their planes will have where to land and park.”
This development is seen as a significant boost for the church, especially during the large-scale events that bring worshippers and visitors from across the globe. The airstrip will help improve transportation logistics, offering more convenience to attendees of the church’s massive programs, which often see thousands flocking to Canaanland.
Oyedepo’s announcement is also a testament to the church’s growing influence and infrastructural expansion. Faith Tabernacle, already known for its massive auditorium and sprawling grounds, will now be equipped with an airstrip, further cementing its place as one of the most expansive church facilities in the country.
But the bishop didn’t stop there. He highlighted the success of Covenant University graduates, who, despite the institution not having an aviation department, have gone on to achieve success in the aviation industry. “Won’t you be glad to know that there are some captains that fly me who are graduates of Covenant University? We don’t have an aviation department here, but they found their place in God and went after it.”
Oyedepo urged young people to find their place in God’s plan, cautioning them against wasting time and opportunities. “That’s what this university is all about, it’s not about boxing you up. It’s about allowing you to locate God’s plan and pursue it accordingly. Young people, don’t play away your life, you don’t have a spare,” he added.
The Tehillah Night special edition was a thanksgiving program organized to honour the bishop, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday in September. Bishop Oyedepo, known for his vast teachings on faith, prosperity, and leadership, continues to be a towering figure in Nigerian Christianity, with this latest development only adding another chapter to his remarkable journey.
