Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, otherwise known as Bobrisky, has filed a lawsuit against internet activist and critic VeryDarkMan, also known as VDM, due to the leak of an explosive audio. The leaked audio shared by VDM reportedly had Bobrisky admitting to bribing officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission with N15 million to drop charges of money laundering against him and serving his six months prison sentence outside the jail courtesy of the Nigerian Correctional Service officials.
Bobrisky had denied the audio, explaining that his voice was artificial intelligence, hence it never reflected any real conversation. The response was a letter of demand from his lawyers where VeryDarkMan was to delete the audio immediately and tender an apology in two national newspapers, besides recording a video of himself on apology to post on all social media.
The suit also demands that VeryDarkMan be restrained from further posting any defamatory content and is asking for N1 billion in damages, to be paid within 24 hours.
Part of the suit reads, “We demand, on behalf of our client, a written apology published in two national daily newspapers, a video recording of your apology shared on all your social media platforms, and the payment of N1,000,000,000 as damages within 24 hours.
This has been a legal move that has raised even more controversy online by fans and critics alike as they wait to see how all this will go down.
