Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian President has commiserated with the government of the Republic of India over a multiple train accident that happened in the country, in which more than 280 passengers were confirmed dead.
The deadly train crash involved two passenger trains and a goods train and occurred in Balasore on Friday, June 2.
According to the statement Tinubu had posted on his official Twitter account on Saturday, June 3, he was sending deepest, sincerest sympathy and condolences to His Excellency Prime Minister Narendra Modi @narendramodi, the citizens of India, as well as to the families of those trapped in the train crash.
The statement had read partly:
“We stand with India in brotherhood at this difficult time. The magnitude of the crash and the high casualty figure calls for global support for India to adequately respond to this calamitous accident.”
