At least 3 police escorts in Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy representing Anambra South senatorial zone are now feared dead. According to reports, the senator was attacked at Enugwu Ukwu in Njikoka local government area of the state on Sunday, 11 Sep. 22.
An eye witness report had said that the senator was suspected to have been injured in the attack in which some people have tagged as an assassination attempt on the Young People’s Party, (YPP) Senator.
“Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy came under attack in Enugwu Ukwu this evening. He was ambushed by heavily armed men who opened fire on his convoy. Some of his aides were killed, including some police officers.” The eyewitness had remarked. “The senator just managed to escape even though his car was riddled with bullets.”
The Anambra state police command is yet to comment on the attack.
