The Court of Appeal situated in Abuja has revoked the election of Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State.
Recall the Independent National Electoral Commission –INEC, had announced Lawal as the winner of the March 18 governorship election.
However, Bello Matawalle, the All Progressives Congress –APC, candidate challenged the victory of Lawal, who contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party –PDP.
The tribunal had approved Lawal’s election, but Matawalle, now the Minister of State for Defence, had proceeded to the Appeal Court.
On Thursday, November 16, a three-member panel of justices revoked the victory of Lawal and directed a rerun of the election in three LGAs.
The affected LGAs included: Maradun, Birnin Magaji and Bukuyun.
