Less than a week after conducting the controversial 2023 presidential election, President Muhammadu Buhari has jetted off for the 5th United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries, LCDs, in Doha, the capital city of Qatar on Saturday, 4 March.

Mallam Garba Shehu, the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, revealed the President’s latest trip via a statement he released on Saturday, 4 March.

According to Shehu, the President’s visit was a sequel to an invitation by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Meanwhile, the Summit will be well attended by world leaders, the private sector, civil society, and youth organizations.

President Buhari’s delegation includes a few Ministers and top government officials, who will be expected to use the opportunity of the visit to sign several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding with the Qatari government.

President Buhari is expected to return to the country on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
