In recent events, a community in Plateau state was subjected to an attack by unidentified gunmen, who have been causing trouble in the state. Despite the presence of a military task force sent to restore peace, the youths in the community clashed with them, as the gunmen continued their reign of terror.
In response to the escalating violence and killings of residents by these gunmen, the Plateau State Police Command deployed its mobile units to various local government areas. The affected communities, mainly located in the central and northern parts of the state, have witnessed an exodus of residents seeking safety elsewhere.
Alabo Alfred, the spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, confirmed the deployment of armed mobile units to the troubled local government areas in a statement issued on Saturday. The statement emphasized the commitment of Commissioner of Police, CP Bartholomew Nnamdi Onyenka, to take all necessary actions to ensure the security of lives and properties in the state. The deployment of mobile police force personnel aims to bring the perpetrators of the killings to justice and restore peace on the plateau.
It further stated, that residents should be vigilant to ensure that any suspicious activities I reported the the right authorities.
