A security expert Captain Sadeeq Shehu has said that the present weather in the country is posing a challenge to pilots who fly aircraft.
Captain Shehu had made the comment on Tuesday, August 15, several hours after a Nigerian Air Force, NAF, jet crashed in Niger State.
No casualties have however, been confirmed in the crash.
According to Captain Sadeeq, the present weather in the country, –the rainy season, makes for really low visibility.
“The cloud gets very low and operating the aircraft gets more dangerous. The weather visbility is poor therefore the chances of having accidents rises”.
“In commercial flights, whenever there is [bad] weather, and increased operations, the chances of an air crash happening are on the high side but that doesn’t mean we should accept these crashes as the norm. But this weather is very demanding for every pilot involved.”
Capt. Shehu had finally, sympathized with the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, over the recent development, stating that this incident would serve as a reminder, of the risk and hazards involved with air operations.
