As China’s capital Beijing, slowly returns to normalcy, the Covid-19 regulations set up in the state are gradually relaxed. This is seen when the state media announced that indoor dining would from henceforth be allowed. This is coming as infection rates in the state have seen a steady decline, with Shanghai reporting 6 new symptomatic cases against the 5 reported the previous day and 16 new asymptomatic cases against the 9 reported the previous day.
The indoor dining service in Beijing will be resuming on Monday, 6th June 2022 except in the Fengtai district and some parts of the Changping District. Normal work will also be starting on Monday and bans on traffic will be lifted at the same time in major areas in Beijing.
Residents would be required to take a mandatory PRC test within 72 hours before they can access public spaces and be able to take public transport as part of the procedures to normalize Covid tests. Meanwhile, workers in some areas have been asked to work from home. Beijing and its Commercial hub, Shanghai have slowly been returning to normal recently after two months of grueling lockdown which was brought on in the bid to contain the Omicron variant outbreak.
