“Citizens Are Now To Carry Guns” – Zamfara State Govt

Concerned and perturbed by the consistent murder of innocent citizens by bandits across his State, Governor Bello Matawalle has ordered every single citizen to possess firearms for their protection. The directive came after Saturday’s main attack which occurred in the Mada community under the Gusau Local Council, where bandits had sent many innocent citizens onto their untimely graves, injured several, and forced a thousand others to flee their homes.

The Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Dosara, in a statement issued yesterday, confessed that the recent decision was taken by the state government to make sure of proper security in the state, especially during the rainy season. He further added that the Government has already taken additional measures to grapple with the current escalating attacks, kidnapping, and criminal levies being forced upon innocent communities.

The Matawalle-led administration, therefore, mandated citizens to prepare and get guns to defend themselves against the bandits and to deal permanently with the situation, as the state government had already ordered the Commissioner of Police in Zamfara to issue licenses to all those who qualified and desired to procure such guns to defend themselves and their loved ones.

Individuals had already been seriously warned and advised to ensure that any information about an informant was true and entirely true.
