The Cleveland Cavaliers evened the series against the Boston Celtics with a resounding 118-94 victory in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semi-final showdown.

Donovan Mitchell spearheaded Cleveland’s charge, pouring in 29 points, with 23 of them coming in a sensational second-half display. Mitchell received ample support from his teammates, described as “attack-minded” by Cavaliers coach J.B. Bickerstaff, as they bounced back from a Game 1 defeat.

Evan Mobley, showing maturity beyond his years at just 22, ignited Cleveland’s offense early with a playoff career-high 21 points, including 15 in the first half. Alongside Mobley, reserve guard Caris LeVert provided a valuable scoring punch off the bench with 21 points of his own.

Bickerstaff praised his team’s aggressive mindset, emphasizing their willingness to attack rather than settle for quick shots. Despite falling behind in the first two quarters, the Cavaliers rallied to tie the game 54-54 at halftime, setting the stage for their second-half surge.

Mitchell’s explosion in the third quarter propelled Cleveland into the driver’s seat, as they seized control of the contest. The Cavs extended their lead to 12 points heading into the final period, with Mitchell’s scoring outburst demoralizing the Celtics and prompting fans to exit the arena early.

The Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum’s 25 points and Jaylen Brown’s 19, struggled to contain Cleveland’s offensive onslaught. Reflecting on the defeat, Brown lamented the team’s defensive lapses, labeling their performance as “unacceptable” after conceding 118 points and losing the rebound battle.

With the series now tied at 1-1, both teams head into the next games with renewed determination, setting the stage for an intense battle as they vie for a spot in the conference finals.
