Entertainment industry has again received a big blow as internationally renowned actress Connie Chiume succumbed to death on the 6th of August, 2024 at Garden City Hospital.
Chiume became popular through drama TV series like ‘Mohlolohadi,’ ‘Yizo Yizo,’ ‘Zone 14,’ ‘Rhythm City,’ ‘Housekeepers,’ ‘Grassroots,’ and even the recent Marvel production, ‘Black Panther.’ She, later on, featured in the most popular drama show ‘Gomora’. The Chiume family has also come out to authenticate this by stating that she has passed on and they would want to mourn in peace.
Through the news and on social media, much love has been accorded to Chiume and the impact she made in the entertainment industry. African film, television, and theatre awarding body known as Actor Spaces recognized the talented actress for her impact and incredible acting skills. She was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 6th Royal Soapie Awards, 16th SA Film & Television Awards (SAFTAS) and the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards in USA.
Her death is a big blow to the entertainment fraternity but she will be missed and will remain special in our hearts forever.
