The Abuja Federal High Court has ordered the Department of State Services, DSS, and its Director General to immediately allow Godwin Emefiele, the suspended CBN governor, unhindered access to his lawyers and family members.
Justice Hamza Muazu had been the one to give the order on Friday, June 16 after Emefiele’s counsel, J.B. Daudu had made the appeal.
While ruling on the application, Justice Muazu had remarked that it was within Emefiele’s constitutional human rights to be granted access to his lawyers and family members.
Recall that Emefiele had been taken into custody by the DSS on Saturday, June 10 after he was suspended by President Bola Tinubu on the previous Friday evening.
