The Government of Cross River State has reaffirmed its desire to closely partner with the United States Agency for International Development, —USAID, in order to accomplish the Universal Health Coverage, –UHC.
Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk, the Commissioner for Health, had made this disclosure when the USAID team visited him at his office in Calabar.
Ayuk had assured the officials of Gov Bassey Otu’s administration’s commitment to delivering a beneficial environment for sustainable and impactful collaboration.
Above all, Ayuk had also implored the partners to ensure the exclusive upgrade of healthcare services, improve private sector participation, expand general hospitals services, as well as draw funding that would engender Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in the State.
Umana Joe, the State Director of Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS), while speaking on behalf of the USAID team had described the enduring relationship between the State and the Implementing Partners as superb.
He had also made assurances of their (the USAID’s) continuous support to the crucial areas of need, particularly in healthcare development.
