Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has unveiled his new extended play (EP) titled 5ive, marking his latest release in the music scene. He made the announcement on Friday via X, urging his fans to support the project and advising them to “ignore the opposition.”
Krane wrote: “MOTION #IgnoreThe0PPS. Please keep supporting the new music family,” later adding, “5IVE by DAMMY KRANE is out now. #ListenToGoodMUSIC.”
The EP features tracks like More Money No Problem, Allegedly (Ganusi), Egunpiano (Wanyinna), Fall In Love, and Ohema. For this project, Krane collaborated with Nigerian artist Babyboy Av, Jamaican star Demarco, and Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy.
The release comes just as Krane finds himself in an ongoing public dispute with artist Davido, who also released an album titled 5ive on the same day. The feud dates back to October 2023, when Krane accused Davido on social media of owing him for his contributions to songwriting and alleged that the singer had sabotaged his deal with Sony Music.
Krane further claimed that Davido was somehow linked to the 2017 death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike, who tragically passed away due to alcohol poisoning. In response, Davido threatened legal action against Krane for defamation and cyberbullying.
The drama continued into August 2024 when Krane accused Davido of being responsible for his arrest. Krane was detained at the Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) for nearly a week before being released.
