Award-winning Nigerian musician Davido has officially dropped his long-awaited album, 5ive, on streaming platforms early Friday morning.
The 17-track project, which was initially slated for release on March 14, features a blend of international collaborations and top African artists.
Among the global stars featured are Jamaican artists 450 and Shensea, South African musician Musa Keys, American sensations Chris Brown and Becky G, as well as French singers Tayc and Dadju. Nigerian artists such as Victony, Odumodublvck, Chike, and Omah Lay also make appearances on the album.
Notable tracks from 5ive include 5ive, Anything, Be There Still, CFMF, 10 Kilo, Offa Me, Don’t Know, R&B, and Awuke. Other highlights are Holy Water, Nuttin Dey, Titanium, Lately, Tek, Funds, Lover Boy, and With You.
Prior to the album’s full release, Davido had already shared singles such as Be There Still, Awuke featuring YG Marley, and Funds.
This marks Davido’s fifth studio album, following his 2012 debut Omo Baba Olowo, which propelled him to stardom. The singer had shared in December that 5ive represents “my story, my truth, and my growth,” reflecting on his musical journey.
As part of the album’s promotion, Davido embarked on a five-city tour across Europe and North America starting on April 5. His previous albums, A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), and Timeless (2023), all contributed to his global success and established him as one of Afrobeats’ leading stars.
