The Premier League early kickoff saw Manchester United snatch a point in a very dramatic way as Matthijs de Ligt scored a 96th-minute equalizer against Tottenham, making it 2-2. The match result marked the eighth consecutive time United has failed to beat Spurs.
An uneventful first half with very few opportunities ended with United scoring first. After the home defenders failed to clear the ball, Amad Diallo sent in an accurate cross to the back post, where Bryan Mbeumo had the height to direct a beautiful header into the net. This was the fifth time the striker scored in the nine times he played against Spurs, and thus putting the away team in front when the half closed.

Tottenham’s well-prepared response came in the second half, and soon they could celebrate the breakthrough. The change in the lineup with Mathys Tel turned out to be very effective as the player got Destiny Udogie’s cross and spun around beautifully before the shot was deflected and went in to make the score equal again.
After that, Spurs seemed to have stolen the victory when Richarlison cleverly deflected Wilson Odobert’s shot into the bottom corner late, but United was determined not to give up. As the match entered stoppage time, Bruno Fernandes’ corner kick found De Ligt, who was positioned at the back post, and the Dutch defender scored with a powerful header that made the Red Devils rejoice for the precious point earned.
