2023 election primaries are coming with a shock for many sitting senators who expect to get a return ticket and Dino Melaye has joined the list of people to be in shock.
Dino Melaye has lost the ticket to contest for the senatorial position again under the people’s democratic party for the 2023 elections. He lost Kohi west district to Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf, a house of rep member, got a total of 163 votes from the delegates while Dino got a total of 99 votes.
They had both scored equal votes in the first selection process. A re-run had however been held on Tuesday to select the candidate to which Tajudeen won the election.
Dino Melaye congratulated Tajudeen in a tweet and also thanked those who had voted for him on the first and second ballot. He also described the process as gang up.
“The gang-up is unimaginable but l give God praise. God bless you all. SDM.”
