The popular Disk Jockey, Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has been at it again; this time, taking the world stage when she made history as the first Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly. Cuppy hosted one of the highly anticipated sessions at Youth Action Day during the 2024 UNGA tagged “The Summit of the Future – Youth Actions Day.”
She went beyond being just a moderator, after her keynote session, Cuppy thrilled the audience with a musical performance. Her session broke records, drawing the largest youth gathering in UN Headquarters history-a monumental feat for both herself and Nigerian representation on the world stage.
Aside from this historic role, she shared the stage with all other dignitaries present, including the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and Cape Verde president José Maria Neves.
A talented and influential young woman, the celebrity disc jockey makes Nigeria proud all over the world. She stands and remains taller among her colleagues in the nation’s music industry, where she has become an icon in her own right, crossing over between music and youth ambassadorship.
