An fire which began in the early hours of today has gutted parts of a popular shopping mall in Gwarinpa, FCT Abuja, damaging goods worth millions of Naira in the process.
The fire, which allegedly began around 4:13 am, on Wednesday, gutted the uppermost floor of the supermarket, the packing stores, down to the staircases within the mall.
Although the cause of the early morning inferno is yet to be ascertained, there are indications that it could be arson.
A staff of the mall who spoke to news reporters anonymously remarked that an unknown individual was caught holing up in the store in the early hours of the morning when efforts were being made to stop the blaze.
The General Manager of the shopping mall who vowed to give details of the incident to DAILY POST had thereafter said that an investigation had commenced to determine the source of the fire.
