The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is resolute in prosecuting former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, despite his alleged attempts to evade charges.
Chairman Ola Olukoyede affirmed the agency’s commitment to pursuing Bello’s prosecution to the fullest extent during a media briefing at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja.
Olukoyede declared his readiness to resign as EFCC chairman if Bello is not prosecuted, emphasizing the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions.
The EFCC is pursuing charges against Bello related to alleged money laundering and misappropriation of funds totaling N80.2 billion, and vows to bring to book anyone obstructing justice.
Olukoyede stressed the vital role of Nigerians’ support in the EFCC’s mission, highlighting the agency’s impact on stabilizing the economy and bolstering the Naira in the foreign market.
The EFCC remains steadfast in its mission to combat corruption and uphold accountability in Nigeria, and it will not waver despite challenges or attacks against the agency.
