The Enugu State Government has ordered all ex-political appointees and office holders under the immediate past administration to adhere to the earlier directive of the former Secretary to the State Government, Professor Simeon Otuanya, enjoining them to hand over on or before May 26, 2023 ahead of the end of the second tenure of the past administration.
In a statement signed by Peofessor Chidiebere Onyia, the new Secretary to the State Government, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the state government called for an immediate conformity to the directive by handing over all government-owned properties in their possession, to either the Permanent Secretary, Director of Administration or the Director of Personnel Management in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies, before work closes today, Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
The statement additionally listed all the affected individuals including all former CEOs of Government-Owned Companies, Board Chairmen and Board Members of Government-Owned Companies, and other categories of political appointees as listed in the memorandum by the former Secretary to the State Government in the immediate past administration.
