The High Court has ruled in favor of French actress Eva Green regarding her $1 million (£810,000) compensation for a sci-fi movie that was never created.
The actress who starred in Casino Royale sued White Lantern Film, claiming that she was owed the money after the movie flopped due to a contentious disagreement with the producers.
White Lantern said that her unreasonable demands caused the movie A Patriot to be ruined. The business stated that it is disappointed by today’s judgment and the court’s findings and is exploring all of its options, including filing an appeal.
The decision comes after a trial in January during which text conversations in which Ms. Green branded one producer a “moron” and another “evil” were made public.
The 42-year-old actress was granted her fee on Friday, according to Judge Mr. Justice Green, who also rejected White Lantern’s counterclaim.
According to him, Ms. Green did not renounce her obligations under her contract, contrary to what White Lantern had asserted, and she did not commit any repudiatory breaches of it.
Following the verdict, the actress issued a statement in which she claimed that “her professional reputation has been upheld.”
