At least one person has been confirmed dead, leaving several others injured on a Singapore Airlines flight from London.
The Singapore-bound Boeing 777-300ER had reportedly been diverted to Bangkok and landed at 15:45 local (08:45 GMT) after it was hit with strong turbulence.
The airline, while releasing a statement on Tuesday said that the Flight SQ 321 had carried a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew, and had offered its deepest condolences to the deceased’s family.
The deceased person, an elderly British man aged 73 had died during the incident, possibly due to a heart attack.
Seven people had also been critically injured, sustaining head injuries in the turbulence.
Meanwhile, eighteen people have been hospitalized and 12, being treated in hospitals, according to Singapore Airlines.
The airline also added that it was working with Thai authorities to offer medical assistance to the passengers and had equally, sent a team to Bangkok to provide any additional help needed.
The BBC have reported that the Thai authorities have despatched ambulances and emergency teams to Suvarnabhumi Airport.
