Federer​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Set for 2026 Induction Into International Tennis Hall of Fame

On Wednesday the ITHF made an official announcement that Roger Federer will be entering the International Tennis Hall of Fame in August 2026. The induction festivities will happen in Newport, Rhode Island, thus, there will be one more milestone of the legendary Swiss star’s long and successful career.

After a retiring in 2022, Federer bow out with an impressive record of 20 Grand Slam title and collected 103 trophies throughout his career. He was the #1 most dominant player in men’s tennis for almost 20 years during which he was ranked world No. 1 for 310 weeks, of which 237 weeks he held the position consecutively from 2004 to 2008, which is also a record.

Through the ITHF statement, the 44-year-old, who is no longer competing, spoke about how honoured he was: “The International Tennis Hall of Fame induction is a huge honour and to be a part of the line-up of so many other great champions of the game. Receiving such recognition by the sport and by my peers is a very humbling experience,” Federer shared.

The ex-world No. 1 continuing his thoughts also mentioned the rich history of the game and his legendary rivalship with Rafael Nadal as well as Novak Djokovic: “I’ve always admired the standard set by those who were there before me. I cannot wait for next August to be in Newport to celebrate this very special moment with you all,” he ​‍​‌‍​‍‌said.
