The federal government stated that even after the 2023 general election was concluded, military forces were still being deployed to crucial sites across the country.
Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd), Minister of Defence, revealed this yesterday during the passing out parade and commissioning ceremony for special duty pre-commissioning training 2022 cadets at the Nigeria Naval Academy, Onne in Rivers State.
Magashi, who was represented by Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, said ongoing troop deployment was critical for the armed services not to rest on their laurels in the face of new security threats.
Magashi hailed the 156 cadets, including women, who completed the strenuous training,’ which began six months ago, saying they were entering the officers’ cadre at a time when the nation needs the armed forces to address the myriad security issues affecting her.
