Set in 1980s Ibadan, “Farmer’s Bride” tells the story of Odun, a wealthy and lonely farmer with no family except his late brother’s widow, Morenike, and her son, Femi. Seeking companionship, Odun marries Funmi, a young bride from a village. However, Funmi, who was forced into this marriage by her mother Tundun, quickly falls into despair, resenting her husband and her fate in the arranged union.
