The Kano State Fire Service have confirmed the fire that began early Wednesday morning in which 17 Gwale Local Government Secretariat offices were gutted.
Saminu Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the service had confirmed the incident to NAN in Kano State.
Abdullahi had revealed that the incident began in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
His words:
“We [the fire service] received a distress call at about 03:43 am from Abdullahi Hassan exclaiming that there was a fire outbreak at Gwale Secretariat.”“Upon getting the tip-off, we immediately sent a fire vehicle to the scene at about 03:46 am to bring the fire under control.” he said.
Abdullahi said that the ground floor of about 300 x 200ft which was being used as an office and others, totalling 17, was completely burned down.
Additionally, a 406 Peugeot, one Hiace bus and a station wagon ambulance got slightly burnt in the inferno.
The PRO finally, made assurances that the service was probing the cause of the fire.
