Four cult members have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command, over the evil and criminal acts perpetrated by these urchins. They were allegedly caught and arrested in the Badagary area of Lagos State after searching for them, for a while. They inflicted pain and terror in the community to the extent that residents in that community have to cry out for help from the government to save them from the hands of these cultists

According to the state Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, they have been on the lookout to arrest these criminals for a long time, as several complaints have emanated from that area over the nefarious activities, and killings in that area. The accused are said to be members of eiye, and aiye confraternities. He further disclosed that they will be brought to court after all investigations have been completed as they’ve only done a surface-level investigation, who knows, they might probably arrest more cultists at the end of their investigation

“The suspects: Gbenga Fransisco Olanrenwaju (aka Gbengene), 40; Asokere Segun (aka Seriki), 36;  Adediran Ibrahim (aka Kush), 23;  and Jimoh Sodiq (aka Irawo), 27; were arrested in various parts of Badagry Lagos State in an operation that lasted days.”

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects belong to eiye and aiye confraternities. Suspects would be arraigned after a more comprehensive investigation.

Abiodun Alabi the Lagos State commissioner of police has assured residents of Lagos, that more operations will be carried out to arrest people perpetuating evil in Lagos state and also ensure a cultism-free state.

“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has assured Lagosians that the command will continue to combat cultism and related crimes towards ensuring lasting peace in the state,” the statement read in part.

The issue of cultism is an unfortunate vice Nigeria is plagued with, especially in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Most people can recount the 1990 OAU Massacre. Cultists never end, as they only bring about fear and evil.
