The now freed student of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, Aminu Muhammed Adamu, who had been detained and tried for tweeting a ‘defamatory’ tweet about the Nigerian First Lady, Aisha Buhari, is set to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari after regaining his freedom. This was according to the student’s family.

Muhammed, aged 23 regained his after Aisha Buhari had withdrawn the case she ordered the police, to allege against the student.

The final-year student in the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology had gotten into trouble after a tweet he posted in June 2022, saying that Mrs. Buhari had suddenly added weight after taking part in feasting on the nation’s meager resources as the masses keep enduring hardship under her husband’s regime.

Muhammed’s guardian, Kabiru Shehu, had on Friday, December 2, confirmed reports that the student was currently in Aso Villa and waiting to see the President.
