The 8th edition of the African Magic viewers’ choice awards held its award night in Lagos on the 14th of May, 2022. The show which was hosted by South Africa’s Bonang Matheba, Nigeria’s IK Osakioduwa saw a lot of Africa’s producers, directors, actors and actresses, content creators, and media practitioners grace the red carpet with their stunning wears.
The 8th edition of AMVCA saw the likes of Funke akindele winning the best actress in a Comedy for Omo Ghetto, Broda shaggy as best actor in a Comedy for Dwindle.
It was also an emotional moment for Osas Ighodaro as she won her first AMVCA Award, in the Best Actress in drama Category for Rattlesnake, she dedicated the award to her mom. Stan Nze, not long after celebrating with Osas for her award, also won the Best Actor in a Drama for Rattlesnake
Odunlade Adekola got his 2nd AMVCA award in the Best Supporting Actor category.
In the newly introduced category, the best online content creator was not also left out as Oga Sabinus also known as Mr. Funny wins the Best Online Content Creator award.
Ramsey Noah was not left out of the winning spree as he got the ‘Best Director (Movie)’ for ‘Rattlesnake: The Ahanna.
The ‘Best Overall Movie’ power went to Izu Ojukwu & Okey Ogunjiofor, for the movie ‘Amina’.
