Barcelona’s 18-year-old midfield sensation, Gavi, is apparently set to contribute €1.5m (£1.3m) to fund a housing project in his hometown to benefit vulnerable and homeless people.
La Razon reports the housing scheme is planning to build 150 flats that will accommodate between 300 and 400 residents who can’t find anywhere safe to live.
His hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca is located in Seville, where Gavi was born and raised before he left to develop his career in Barcelona’s youth academies at a young age.

Not a ‘normal’ property investment, the project is understood to be a socially-minded contribution from the star which will aim to house homeless residents and people in problematic circumstances.
Details are a bit sketchy around the project, including the timeline to start construction and selection criteria. Gavi has become an indispensable member of the current Barcelona first XI, despite only being 18 years old, and if this housing project pans out successfully, it could be Gavi’s most impactful contribution beyond the world of football.
