Taiwo Adegbodu, one half of the renowned Yoruba gospel music duo known as the Adegbodu Twins, has passed away.
The sad development was made public on Sunday through a statement shared on the group’s official Facebook page, managed by their team. In the post, the family expressed deep sorrow, describing his sudden death as a heartbreaking loss that is difficult to comprehend.
Popular gospel artiste Esther Igbekele also confirmed the news on her Instagram page, where she shared a photo of the late singer and penned a brief tribute in Yoruba.

Taiwo rose to fame alongside his twin brother, Kehinde Adegbodu, after the release of their debut album Faratimi (Lean on Me) in 1999. The project marked the beginning of a successful career that saw the duo become household names in the Yoruba gospel music space.
Known for their deeply spiritual lyrics and rich cultural sound, the Adegbodu Twins built a loyal fan base within the Christian community. Some of their popular tracks include Shower Your Blessing, God Concert, Emi Mimo, Igbagbo Dun, Ma Beru, and Adura Mi Gba.
Taiwo Adegbodu’s passing has since drawn an outpouring of condolences from fans, colleagues, and gospel musicians across Nigeria, all mourning the loss of a cherished voice in the industry.
