Musa Abubakar, also known as Babawuro, the chairman of the Nafada Local Government, was said to have perished on Monday in an automobile accident on the Kano road. According to our source, Abubakar was one of the 11 local council leaders elected in December 2020 on the APC platform in a vote held by the Inuwa Yahaya-led administration. Yahaya stated he was deeply saddened to learn about the regrettable incident and that he felt pain afterward.

The governor called the passing of the local government chairman “very distressing,” according to a statement made on his behalf by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Ismaila Misilli. The governor continued by stating that it was a great loss, not just to his personal family but also to the entire state and country.

“The departed was a man of peace, passionate politician, and seasoned public servant who contributed enormously to the development of his immediate community, local government, and the state,” the statement said in part. The governor expressed his sympathies to the Gombe State government and people on behalf of the deceased’s immediate family, the staff and council members of Nafada local government area, as well as all the good people of the LGA, and he prayed for the deceased’s soul to find peace.

“We pray Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus,” Yahaya added.
